About: In Vilnius old-town a 17th century Children Shelter and
Soviet era hospital are transformed to new residential
housing complex. Territory has been neglected and
required the highest level of architectural work, strong
visionary and ability to subtly adapt to the old town. The
concept was developed by supplementing the existing
urban fabric of the city, formed over centuries. The
scenario of changing perspectives created in volumes is
characteristic of Old-town streets. Materiality - brick,
tile, plaster – the colors, materials and textures of the
old town are interpreted.
