About: SAINT JACOBS QUARTER next to the Church and Monastery of St Philip and St Jacob in Vilnius is composed of four historic and five new buildings, opening its inner courtyard to the city. The publicly accessible courtyard connects all the buildings and serves residents, students, hotel guests and office workers. The modest new architecture brings the church into focus, while the 19th-century buildings are carefully restored, preserving their authentic vaults, masonry and details. These historic layers are sensitively combined with contemporary details and materials.
