About: Design proposals for a cemetery maintenance
administration building - crematorium in Vainatrakis
cemetery in Kaunas district. The spatial composition of
monumental openwork volume rising upwards into the
sky signifies the synthesis of arrival - journey - farewell.
Perforated brickwall ´closes´ facades of the building and
makes spaces more private, but it opens up the greenery
and sunlight into the inner courtyards. The elongated
green pathway is like a journey with a sense of freedom
at the end of the road.
