About: Project ‘Gathering’ subtly reacts to the existing natural
and cultural context of the Pavilniai district. A traditional
wooden green-painted existing library, which is an
important aspect in the collective memory of the
community is replaced by a modern composition of 4
volumes that react to the neighbourhood needs and
gather the diverse community under one roof. The
project proposal, which won an architectural
competition, was later eliminated due to environmental
certificate requirements.
